The Big Weigh in....

August weighs 3 pounds 2 oz and is 14.5 inches long.
Luke weighs 2 pounds 15 oz and is 15.25 inches long.
Henry weighs 3 pounds 1 oz and is 14.24 inches long.

The boys were one month old on Saturday and will be 5 weeks old on Wednesday. Some days it feels like time is really flying and others days not so much. Everyone is doing well right now and August has taken over as the champion of the nursery. Luke is hot on August's trail. Henry is having a fit about the big take over and when Henry has a fit, nobody's happy!!!

When Mark and I walked into NICU this morning we walked in to find the babies outfitted with Christmas blankets embroidered with their names on them. The blankets cover their isolettes to make it cozy and dark for them. They also have Christmas bedding to lay their cute little heads on. The boys primary nurses, Valerie and Sarah, are amazing and were the sweet ladies who decked out the boys beds.

A day of firsts...

Yesterday was a day of firsts for me. I changed my first poopy diaper ever (ever!) and much to my surprise, I handled well. Changing a loaded diaper has been a fear of mine for some time and I've listened to people tell me that "when it's your child you won't care". I thought that was a load of crap (pun?) but they were right.

After changing Henry's diaper I held the little guy for two hours. This was the first time that I've held any of the boys. I have no words to describe how I felt.

We got updates on the babies weights and couldn't believe how much they have grown. They measure the babies every Sunday night, so we're going to start getting updates every Monday.

August now weighs 2 pounds 6.3 ounces and measures 14.5 in. His birth weight was 2.2 and measured 13.5 inches.

Luke now weighs 2 pounds 11 oz and measured 15 inches long. This weight is definitely off as he is a little water logged right now. So, we will not be surprised if next week his weight is less than this. His birth weight was 2 pounds even and measured 13.5 inches.

Henry now weighs 2 pounds 5 oz and measures 13.5 inches. His birth weight was 1 pound 11 ounces and measured at 13 1/4 inches long. Henry is the only baby who has tolerated the feedings of milk and when I say tolerated I mean wolfs them down. He is now getting 14 ml every 3 hours and will be passing up his brothers anyday now on weight!!!

Latest

So far we have changed a couple to tiny diapers and Ashley held little Henry Tuesday evening. She should be able to hold the other kids by the end of the weekend.

The boys are being quite disruptive to the RN staff's private lives. Last night I heard Henry's nurse practicing nuptials for their wedding while holding his hand.

Home

Ashley is recovering on schedule and was discharged yesterday. I would still be screaming for more pain medicine and fighting to stay in the hospital if I was the one who had the C-section. She's an amazing woman and my hero.

Nothing new to report on the boys other than they're little fighters.
